Klaviyo Composer now audits and advises. What each move is worth, in dollars, is still the real job.

Composer is a strong way to turn an idea into a built, staged campaign inside Klaviyo. This is a straight look at what it does well, and how to make sure the campaign you build next is the one worth the most, in dollars, on your own data.

Disclosure: we make EmailStrategist, so we're one of the tools mentioned here. This is our honest read, not an independent review. Composer details are from Klaviyo's help center and reflect the product as of August 22, 2026.

What Klaviyo Composer does

Composer is Klaviyo's AI marketing agent. Describe the outcome you want, like "win back 90-day lapsed buyers, email and SMS, fresh tone," and it builds the campaign: the audience, the copy for each channel, the timing, and the staged send, ready for your review. It now audits your account and flows and recommends actions too, though the recommendations are strictly advisory, Klaviyo's term: it analyzes structure and content, not your intent; in plain terms, it reads what is in the account, not which move your business needs most. It draws on your account plus Klaviyo's intelligence across billions of interactions, and nothing goes out without your approval. When you have a campaign outcome to pursue, it is a fast, capable way to build and ship it.

Decide what to build next by the revenue it can add

The revenue is usually upstream: knowing which move, out of everything you could send, is worth the most before you build it. That is the job EmailStrategist does. Composer's new audit will point at gaps, and by Klaviyo's own description it is strictly advisory, working from structure and content rather than your intent. EmailStrategist's job starts from your intent and your numbers: it dollar-ranks the moves and hands you the highest-value email built and staged for review. Klaviyo's own usage panel shows the meter at work: auditing a single flow runs 10 to 450 credits and building a campaign up to 1,000, against paid plans starting at $14 for 2,000 credits as of August 2026. EmailStrategist reads the whole account without a meter.

Sized in dollars, on your data

EmailStrategist reads your account and ranks the highest-value moves you're not sending yet, each with a revenue estimate from your own numbers, so what you build next is the play the data ranks highest.

Built around your KPIs

It ranks opportunities around repeat-purchase rate and returning-customer rate today, with LTV and margin-aware ranking on the roadmap.

Aware of your constraints

It's engineered around what your business can't afford to break: a subscription brand's cancellation rate, an engaged-only sending posture, deliverability headroom.

Your brand, curated

A brand brain of your voice, catalog, and history behind every recommendation, and a read on the health and ROI of the whole program, not one campaign.

A cross-cutting read

The program in one view, including revenue by flow type, assembled into the audit so the next move is easier to rank.

Klaviyo Composer builds fast. Deciding takes longer.

The two run at different speeds by design. When you already know the move, Composer builds it in minutes. When you want the move found and priced, EmailStrategist reads your full sending history overnight and hands back a ranked, dollar-sized list. Fast execution and a deep read are both worth having.

Use EmailStrategist to decide and Klaviyo Composer to build

The two fit together cleanly. EmailStrategist finds and sizes the opportunity and hands you the built email, staged for your review. Take that into Composer, or use the draft we staged, whichever fits your workflow. It works on top of Klaviyo, not as a replacement, and built emails land in your account as drafts for your review. Sometimes EmailStrategist will even tell you Composer is the right tool to execute a given move. That is exactly the point: decide with the dollars, execute where it's fastest.

Before you connect

Is it safe to connect Klaviyo?

  • Read-only. It can read your campaign and flow performance. It cannot send, edit, or delete anything in your account.
  • No customer data stored. It works from your metrics, not your subscriber list. Names, emails, and phone numbers are never stored.
  • Nothing ships without you. Built emails land as drafts for your review; nothing is pushed to Klaviyo on its own. Reading and staging are separate permissions: the audit runs on read-only access, and drafts are staged only if you later grant write access, which still cannot send.
  • Built by an operator. David Refaeli-Berman ran enterprise email at Chewy, Amazon, Overstock, and Bed Bath & Beyond.
FAQ

Questions

What is Klaviyo Composer?

Klaviyo Composer is Klaviyo's AI marketing agent. You describe the outcome you want and it builds the campaign: the audience, the copy for each channel, the timing, and the staged send, ready for your review. It draws on your account plus Klaviyo's cross-brand intelligence, and nothing sends without your approval. It entered public beta on June 30, 2026. It also audits your account and flows and recommends actions; Klaviyo describes those recommendations as strictly advisory.

Is Klaviyo Composer good?

For turning a campaign you've decided on into a built, staged send inside Klaviyo, yes, it's strong and fast. It shines when you already know the move you want to make.

What does Klaviyo Composer cost?

Composer is included in Klaviyo accounts and metered by credits. New customers get 10,000 complimentary credits to use within 90 days, paid plans start at $14 a month for 2,000 credits, unused free credits roll over, and usage alerts fire at 75, 90, and 100 percent. Details are from Klaviyo's help center, August 2026.

What does EmailStrategist cost?

The audit is free. Pricing is covered on the call, after you've seen the number: you're deciding against a real figure for your account, not a rate card, and there's no retainer.

Do I still need anything alongside Klaviyo Composer?

Composer builds campaigns and now recommends actions, but by Klaviyo's own description the recommendations are strictly advisory and work from structure and content, not your intent. The revenue is in knowing what each move is worth on your data and getting the highest-value one built. That dollar-ranking, with the email staged for your review, is where EmailStrategist works.

Can I use EmailStrategist with Klaviyo Composer?

Yes. They're complementary. EmailStrategist finds and sizes the highest-value opportunity in your account, then you build and ship it in Composer. It works on top of Klaviyo, not as a replacement.

Is there a Klaviyo Composer alternative?

It depends what you're comparing. For building campaigns fast inside Klaviyo, Composer is purpose-built. For finding and dollar-ranking which campaigns are worth building next on your own data, that's a different job, and the one EmailStrategist does.
